Writing a newsletter isn’t magic 🧚♀️—it’s a repeatable process. And once you have a rhythm, it gets easier to show up consistently, keep your readers engaged, and stay connected to your voice.
This week, we’re walking you through exactly how we build each issue—from first idea to final send.
🧠 Step 1: Choose the Topic
Every newsletter we send is mapped to a larger vision. We don’t just write what we feel—we write what teaches, supports, and inspires. Our content is organized into a series (like this one) with each week building on the last.
Once the topic is chosen, we ask:
What do we want our readers to know by the end of this issue?
What do we want them to feel?
What do we want them to do next?
That’s how we stay focused and intentional with every send.
✍️ Step 2: Draft the Content
We start by writing a rough draft based on the week’s topic. At this stage, clarity comes before cleverness. Our goal is to write the way we would explain something to a smart friend: no jargon, no filler, just honest, thoughtful guidance.
We also consider:
Where does voice need to shine?
What can we cut to keep it concise?
Are we balancing story, structure, and value?
✂️ Step 3: Edit for Tone, Flow, and Readability
After the first draft, we read the newsletter out loud. It’s one of the easiest ways to catch awkward phrasing, tangents, or lines that don’t quite land.
We ask:
Does this still sound like us? 🤔🤔
Are the paragraphs skimmable?
Is the CTA clear and useful?
We aim for a clean, friendly layout with short paragraphs, clear headers, and natural rhythm.
🧃 Step 4: Add Visuals, Polls, or Extras
Depending on the week, we might include:
A visual from Canva
A Beehiiv poll or question box
A quote, screenshot, or member spotlight
These elements are meant to create connection—not clutter. We choose them with intention.
📨 Step 5: Schedule and Send
We use Beehiiv to build, preview, and schedule each newsletter. Before we hit “send,” we always double-check:
Subject line + preview text
Mobile formatting
Links and polls
And then? We send it. Even when it’s not perfect. Even when we’re nervous. Because consistency builds trust, and trust builds community.
💭 What You Can Take From This
A newsletter is more than just writing—it’s a system.
Planning ahead makes creativity easier, not harder.
You don’t have to reinvent the wheel every week—just refine your rhythm. 🥁

Teacher's Note
Good morning, girlz!
Not sure about you or what it’s like where you live, but over here… spring is definitely in the air!!! 🌸You know that feeling when the fresh breeze🌬️ hits your lungs and suddenly—bam!—you feel the urge to clear things out? That’s no accident.
There’s something about this season that makes us crave fresh starts. We fling open windows, air out the staleness, and naturally start looking around at the stuff that feels cluttered, heavy, or just… in the way. 🧹
Hence: spring cleaning.
Now usually, we think of that as deep-cleaning our homes—but what if we brought that same energy into our businesses?
You might be wondering, “What does this have to do with our topic this week—behind the scenes of creating a newsletter?”
🪴A lot, actually.
Clarity, creativity, and intention flow so much easier when we edit out what’s no longer serving the end goal. Unfinished projects, digital clutter, piles on your desk, random “maybe one day” ideas—💡they’re all taking up space in your brain. And that space? That’s your most valuable real estate.🤑
So this week, I challenge you to do a little spring cleaning in your workspace-📤physically and digitally. Create room for systems that support you and your newsletter goals. When your space is aligned, it becomes so much easier to create a newsletter that converts, connects, and builds the kind of income and impact you’re after.
Speaking of clearing space… if this topic hits home, you’ll love 🫶what we’re building over at PURGE theory—a brand new newsletter and community where we explore the emotional, physical, and energetic clutter that keeps us stuck. If you’re ready to let go, make space, and take flight 🧚♀️in every area of your life (not just your inbox), go take a peek at PURGE Theory—and yes, there’s a deeper journey waiting if you’re ready for it.
In the meantime, here’s your…

🎨 Color Code Theory: How Your Personality Shows Up in Your Process
We all work differently—and your Color Code might explain why.
🟥 Red (Power) → You’re focused, fast, and thrive with a clear goal. You probably love a checklist—and want results.
🟦 Blue (Intimacy) → You want it to feel right. You care about tone, values, and connection. You might spend extra time editing for emotional impact.
🟨 Yellow (Fun) → You get most excited at the idea stage—and you’re great at bringing energy and creativity to your writing. Following a rigid system? Not so much.
⬜ White (Peace) → You like to work at your own pace. You prefer quiet clarity over pressure, and you’re probably the calmest person on the newsletter floor.
No one style is better than the other—but knowing yours can help you design a process that actually works for you.
